Mrs. Dent
Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Mrs. Dent, and I am very excited to be your teacher this year! I have been busy getting ready for all our new friends. I can't wait to meet you and begin a fun-filled year together. Second grade is such a special year. I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of your learning! Reading is my absolute favorite thing to do, and I can't wait to read to you and have you read to me.
I graduated from Virginia Wesleyan University with a BA in Psychology and Social
Sciences. I obtained my (VBAC) Virginia Applied Behavior Analysis Consortium
endorsement and began working (6 years) in community-based, and hospital specific, child
and adolescent programs. Every child is unique and deserves a caring, inspiring, and
engaging atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and socially. As an educator I want to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by
providing a safe and collaborative environment. A positive elementary education is
essential to creating successful life-long learners. I spend my weekends enjoying time
outside with my family, teaching K-3 rd Grade Waters Edge Church, and cooking.
