Activities

Recess
Recess plays an important role in the social development and health of elementary school children. Recess breaks are built into the daily schedule providing opportunities for children to engage in vigorous physical activity and to develop social skills through interactions with other children.
Jump
Jump Start is a performance jump rope team consisting of 3rd – 5th graders. The team trains throughout the school year improving technique, speed, strength, and endurance. Jump Start performs in local parades, half time shows, community events, and at various school sponsored functions.

Library

Visiting the school library is a scheduled weekly resource for each elementary class.  Denbigh Baptist Christian School is committed to helping students become effective users of ideas and information.  DBCS also strives to instill a love of reading and literature in each student with the expectation that every student will become an independent learner and life-long reader.

Lunch

Lunch time at DBCS lasts for 30 minutes each day during which time students may eat and chat with their friends.  Students may bring in a bag lunch or purchase items from the Lunch Menu.

Chapel

Scripture Songs

On the first Friday of each month, a former DBCS mom leads our students in singing Scripture Songs.

Hurray for Chapel

Understanding the student's needs, our teachers prepare chapel for the third Friday.

Guest Speakers

Mr. Fletcher, Pastor Thor, and other guests round out our list of chapel speakers.

safety patrol

Fifth graders provide an important service to our youngest preschool and kindergarten students during the morning carpool. They are responsible for helping with arrival in the carpool line and walking students to the cafeteria. Patrollers must have a "B" average and be responsible students. These students may use this service for their Bible Service Project each marking period.

Prayer Partners

Once a month, MS/HS students come to the classroom of their elementary Prayer Partner. They talk for a few minutes and then pray together. The elementary students look forward to this special time.

Sticks Ministry

The Sticks Ministry is a fifth grade ministry which focuses on bringing the Word of God to life through creative movement. Fifth graders perform Bible stories using sticks (dowel rods) and popular Christian music to encourage believers and reach nonbelievers.
